More New Shtick...

From the series.

We are trying to make more of these. Time proves difficult sometimes. Then funds. Then time and funds. No fun.

Soon enough, though.

Enjoy.

You Only Wish...

That the airport was this empty when you're there. Don't count on it staying like this for too long, either. SFO's new T2 for 7x7 Magazine. In print, and on the web right here.

Enjoy.

New Kicks.

We've been aiming towards the goal of a new portfolio for quite some time. It's a long process for us, as we have so many ideas, yet they all take resources that sometimes are harder to pull together than others. We told ourselves that once we got close to the point of having all the new shtick together, we'd get a new website, then attack the world with new book in hand. Sure, sometimes it's hard to get everything done to launch at once, but we can handle, right?

News flash. This shit takes time, and I'm feeling antsy this morning. That said, here's a new one that most of you probably haven't seen yet. There's more to come. But for now, let your mind go, and enjoy.

Pop Photo Interview

Just had the delight of doing an interview with Alison McCreery for her blog, Pop. The interview process was awesome, and so was Alison. It is also the first time we got to show off some new work. . .

Go.

Enjoy.

SF is Ready

We've got a series of outdoor ads running around town at the moment for the local non profit organization, sfisready.org. You can see it at bus stops, train stations, and all sorts of whacky, out-door-ad-tastic places. Yeah, I made that word up.

Here's a stack of post-card-tastic postcards, or something. Maybe that one didn't make as much sense. In any event, keep yer eyes peeled, and enjoy. Blam!

Sandy Daze

Been cranking on shit lately. Trying to get the new book together, the new work retouched, everything paginated. Oh, and make some money all the while. Figures then, that the surf would pick up, and rear her beautiful head in time for all of this. But you make room for these things. You get up before sunrise. You come in before Jasmine gets mad and scolds you for playing too long. And you always, ALWAYS make sure to wash the sand down the drain. Nobody can know where you've been, or what you've done. And you still get your shit done. You just sleep less.

A fair trade, I suppose.

Our Policy

A couple of weeks back, when we were taking kitschy iPhone fotos of the 49er's endzone (see below), we were also hanging in the eves with some of the heaviest football hitters of all time. Normally we don't do candid shots of our subjects-- there just seems like too much disconnect, and not enough control on our part... Yet when Carmen Policy is hanging out with the boys (Joe Montana and Roger Craig at right), you tend to pull out your camera to snap a couple of frames.

Here's Carmen, just ripping.

Foozball

Was hanging w/ Eddie DeBartolo Jr the other night, snapping some snaps, while the 49ers took on the defending Super Bowl champs, the New Orleans Saints. Even though we lost, it was still arguably one of the better Monday Night Football games to be played in a long while. And we don't even like football. I know, how unAmerican of us.

These were our seats.

Grindstone Joe's

East of San Francisco lies a place where poplar trees line your road home. Large mouth bass seek refuge under a willow tree that feels centuries old, it's thewy branches stretching over the slough.

Hot air burns your skin, cold water takes you in.

This is Grindstone's.

jg

Down Santa Barbara way lives our great friend Jesse Groves. Nestled amongst the avocado trees, Jesse's apartment is a quiet refuge where good coffee and good music can both be found. Afternoon light finds it's way through his shutters. Minutes grow slower. When you are here, there is no rush, and you find time to ponder what you'll say before you speak. Outside lives a green bus. Meet Jesse Groves.
